Certification bodies must also pass a test of their competence via witnessed assessment undertaken by UKAS. These rigorous measures enable UKAS accredited ISO certification providers to distinguish themselves from non-UKAS accredited providers, as once spotted, these non-UKAS ISO certifications are often rejected.
